RONGAI ROUTE

Northern approach with better acclimatization and less crowds
Duration

8 Days

Difficulty

Moderate

Success Rate

85%

Distance

72 km (45 mi)

The 8-day Rongai Route offers better acclimatization than the 6-day option. An extra day allows your body to adjust to altitude, improving your chances of reaching the summit.

Starting from the north near the Kenyan border, this route offers a unique perspective of Kilimanjaro with fewer crowds.

The Rongai Route is excellent for wildlife viewing, with potential sightings of colobus monkeys and various bird species.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and transferred for overnight accommodation at The Maridadi hotel B&B. Your head guide will meet you for your briefing, gear check and arrange for you to hire any equipment you may need.

Why Choose This Route?

Quieter route with unique northern views and wildlife.
